The purpose of the corporation shall be to raise funds and accept donations for the Foundation, and to manage the Foundation’s investments for the purpose of providing annual scholarships for high school seniors planning to major in education or school-related fields. The funds shall be invested upon professional recommendations and reviewed regularly by the Board. As revenue increases, the Board may set the scholarship amount to reflect those increases. Scholarships are available to recipients from each of the eight Districts of WSSRA.

Gifts or donations may be made in the form of memorials, bequests, contributions of cash, real estate, securities or personal property. Gifts will be recognized annually and recognized in the WSSRA Handbooks. This year the WSSR Foundation presented eight college scholarships of $1,500 each to outstanding high school seniors from throughout Washington who plan to attend college to become teachers.
